About Us
Who We Are
The Up Project is a community-rooted, faith-inspired nonprofit organization serving Hot Springs and Garland County, Arkansas. We exist to support individuals facing housing instability, employment barriers, and life disruptions by providing practical pathways toward stability, independence, and long-term opportunity.
We believe that people thrive when they are met with dignity, consistency, and access to the right tools at the right time.
What We Do
The Up Project provides transitional support and workforce readiness services designed to help individuals move toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency. We focus on practical pathways out of poverty through education, job readiness, skill development, and strategic community partnerships. Our approach addresses immediate needs while equipping participants with the tools, training, and confidence necessary to re-enter the workforce, pursue sustainable employment, and build a more secure future.

Why We Exist
The Up Project exists to break cycles of poverty by creating practical, education-centered pathways to economic stability. We believe that access to knowledge, workforce skills, and opportunity can transform lives and strengthen communities. By investing in people and their potential, we aim to foster long-term independence, dignity, and hope for a more resilient future.
Our Philosophy
The Up Project is guided by a belief in personal agency, responsibility, and the power of opportunity. We embrace a “hand up, not a handout” approach—providing support that encourages growth, accountability, and long-term independence rather than short-term relief alone. Our work is rooted in dignity, mutual respect, and the understanding that sustainable change occurs when individuals are equipped with the tools and education to shape their own futures.
